News, Information & Calendar

Congratulations to everyone who earned a new rank in October! We’re proud of all of our students and think you did a great job of demonstrating the tenets in your tests. Well done!

The transition to “The Academy 2.0” has gone as smoothly as we had hoped! Thank you for being patient with us as we finish up some final details and get everything functioning properly.  The new space feels more like a dojo than any space we’ve been in before. You will notice that we’re incorporating more traditional martial arts manners in the new location. Please let us know if you have any questions about this.

We have something new to offer our families at our current location – BIRTHDAY PARTIES! You now have the ability to rent our facility for birthday parties. There is a standard package available. Check the calendar on our web site for availability and direct any questions to Mr. or Mrs. Deaver.

NOTE: Branches (YMCA/Parks & Rec) are closed all week this week, but for those of you who train at our main location, The Academy will have classes on Monday and Tuesday evening

  4. Be respectful of others in class, especially when doing partner work
  5. Have a good attitude and be ready to listen to your instructor

“Pil Sung” literally translates as “certain victory”. In a martial arts sense, its meaning does not necessarily refer to confrontation or violence, rather it is a philosophy of rising to challenges, however difficult they may appear, in the name of personal development.

typewriter What’s your family’s story?
We would love to put together some testimonials from our students and their families. It will be easy…promise! Just let us know if you’d be interested in helping with a written or recorded testimony on how you or your student has benefited from The Academy of Martial Arts! Email Master Deaver for more information.
