AMA Newsletter – February 2022
Frosty greetings to everyone!
We hope you had a safe and happy new year!
The Spark Academy app has had some major failures lately. My deepest apologies. We have been working with tech support to solve all these issues and unfortunately we are having no luck.
Many of you have received our billing update information email and updated your information with the new billing provider. Thank you. For those of you who have not, you can click here to register any new information as well as the current Card On file you would like us to use.
Please helps us by completing the new Information page with your information such as: Address, Phone #, Email addresses etc. to help us complete the data transfer..
Our current (Academy) website provider has an APP option that we are using and is working very well. If you wish to use this, just download from our front page of our website and log in with the email address you have on file.
The Academy Schedule moving forward we would like to delete the 4:30pm Ninja Trix class due to low participation. As the 4 year olds are doing well in the 5:00pm class we will have the schedule to allow them to attend the 5:00 – 5:30pm class M – Th. Also our schedule will be updated in May for our Annual Summer Hours. Please note we have reduced classes during the summer to accommodate vacations and holidays and we also have morning classes for Tae Kwon Do.
Hapkido is now 4 nights a week and some new times.
We are now inviting younger students into the weapons class. Mr. Inman or Mr. Dennis may invite you to class, please feel free to come and try it out with them. Weapons class is an add-on (additional monthly fee applies). See Mr. Deaver for details
Moving forward we will be incorporating new testing procedures. Students will pre-register via our new form provided by our website so that all materials can be ordered in a timely manner. Students will test during regular classes on Wednesday or Thursday of the designated test week. Parents are invited to come in and watch, take pictures and or videos.
All Tae Kwon Do Black Belts will have a designated Test Date and time.
Students attending the first class the following week will be handed the new rank and certificate at the end of the class as they dismiss and leave.
Stripe testing for Tae Kwon Do (6-11 Yr. Old’s) 1 stripe is awarded every 2 – 3 weeks as students learn requirements for that cycle and the stripe is earned the 3rd or 4th week during class time. After the students earn 3 stripes they are ready to break a board in class for parents. Then the next week they will promote to the next belt in class. Again they will be handed to them at the end of class along with certificate.
SPECIAL NOTE: Please Wash Hands and use Hand Sanitizer.
Students: if you are not feeling well, sneezing and coughing regularly, please stay at home until you feel better.
Bring a Buddy Saturday’s Please feel free to bring a Buddy to class. If you know they plan on attending please email Mr. Deaver so he can sent the Waiver for them to fill out electronically before they visit the facility.
Valentines Day! Is coming soon. Mr. Deaver has Valentines Cards for you to share with others so that you may get your friends to join and work out with you.

The Curriculum Experience
The Hyper Self-Defense Program has been designed to incorporate combative and non combative training, drills, and coaches huddles to create high-level self-defenseathletes. Over a 12-week season, students learn a series of combative strikes and self-defense scenarios. On their graduation test, they demonstrate their new skills with speed, precision and aggression in a self-defense combat circuit This is a fun and empowering self defense system that equips students with the training, confidence and fitness to protect themselves and their families The program is broken down into four main parts.
Students learn and drill the solid foundation strikes with speed, precision and aggression They finish the training session with a partner combat challenge as a fun wayto increase athleticism and teamwork.
Students learn the most common threats and street defense scenarios.
Combat Circuits and Drills
Circuits and drills increase fitness, skill, adaptation, and automated responses
Coaches huddles educate students on the top philosophies and technical strategies for avoiding attacks and deploying self-defense tactics.
